Why do you need an editor?

Whether you’re writing a fiction book, a brochure for your company, or a Master’s thesis, it is important to deliver a clear, strong message to your audience. Typographical errors can detract from this message and even compromise your credibility. I’m here to ensure your writing is as flawless and professional as it can be.

For works of fiction, receiving more in-depth feedback is a helpful and necessary step toward publication. I offer manuscript evaluations that focus on story elements, such as plot, character, conflict, setting, and structure.

My Background

I graduated summa cum laude from Boise State University with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Japanese Studies.  In addition to fiction editing and writing, I have experience in:

  • Print and online journalism (contributing author and copy editor)
  • Pop culture blogging (contributing author and copy editor)
  • Academic and research writing, for both humanities and STEM fields
  • Translation

I’ve worked closely with ESL students, and I welcome the opportunity to edit for people whose native language is not English. I am most familiar with MLA and AP styles but can follow other style guides upon request.

I genuinely love editing and collaborating with writers on their creative projects. As an author myself, I recognize how much time and effort goes into writing and how difficult it can be to hear criticism, even if it is constructive. Rest assured, I will never tell you that your ideas are wrong. Rather, I will strive to identify your goals and work with you to achieve them.

I’m excited to be part of your next project!
